How to use «Well-meaning» in context?
bigotry
Recently there has been a bit of a buzz in the social media sphere about well-meaning bigotry. Well-meaning people have been vocal about their disapproval of certain lifestyles and have attempted to enact change by shaming or criticizing those who practice them.
But is shaming really the best way to approach these conversations? It seems like it might be more effective to have a frank discussion about why certain lifestyles are undesirable and try to come up with positive alternatives. Shaming someone only serves to reinforce their belief that what they are doing is right, and it can also lead to further dissatisfaction and dysfunction in their life.
