Intermediate is a term that is used to describe a person or a thing that is in the middle of two other things. It is used in place of either the term «advanced» or the term «basic.» Intermediate usually refers to an educational level that is between the elementary and the college level. Intermediate students usually have not yet completed the elementary level and have not reached the level of knowledge that is found at the college level. Intermediate students are usually still learning new material and are not yet able to fully understand or remember all of the information that they have learned.
