Influenza is really a unique virus, so different from diseases like measles and polio that stay essentially stable, and you just got to vaccinate once or get infected, and essentially, you’re good for life. That’s not the case with flu. It’s very complicated with flu.

  5. Susan Taghioff:

Despite this, the influenza vaccine is by no means a replacement for the COVID-19 vaccine, and we advocate for everyone to receive their COVID-19 vaccine if able to. How to use «Influenza» in context?

Influenza is a respiratory infection caused by the influenza A virus. Symptoms generally start within two to seven days after being infected, and typically include fever, headache, muscle aches, cough, and sneezing. These symptoms may last for two to four weeks. In severe cases, flu may lead to pneumonia, a serious lung infection. There is no vaccine for either the seasonal flu or for the pandemic (H1N1) virus. Treatment focuses on relieving the symptoms. Prevention includes getting vaccinated against the flu each year and avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
